Terms of Use
Effective 21 August 2026.
Awaiting legal review
This document describes our actual current practice in good faith, but it has not yet been reviewed by an admitted attorney. It is not a substitute for legal advice, and the sections marked [TO CONFIRM] need company details filled in before this can be relied on. If anything here matters to a decision you're making, email legal@etra.co.za and we'll give you a straight answer.
These terms govern your use of etra.co.za. By browsing this site or submitting the contact form, you agree to them. If you don't, please stop using the site.
What these terms cover
This is a marketing and information website. These terms cover the site itself — nothing more.
They do not govern the GraceVault or Orion Marketplace platforms. Those are separate products with their own contractual terms. See Product agreements.

Intellectual property
All content on this site — text, layout, graphics, the Etra name and mark, the GraceVault and Orion Marketplace names and marks, and the underlying code — is owned by Etra (Pty) Ltd or licensed to us, and is protected by South African and international intellectual property law.
Nothing on this site grants you a licence to use our trade marks. The names of other companies mentioned here belong to their respective owners.
Accuracy of information
We take reasonable care to keep this site accurate and current, and performance figures are stated with the period they relate to.
Even so, please read the following in the spirit intended:
- Statistics and outcomes quoted here are averages or aggregates across our customer base at the stated date. They describe results others have achieved. They are not a promise about what you would achieve.
- Product descriptions reflect current functionality. Features change; the authoritative description of what a product does at any moment is its own documentation and your service agreement.
- Screenshots and interface illustrations on this site are representations built for explanation. They use fictional data and are not live views of any real customer's account.
- Nothing here is professional advice. It is not legal, financial, regulatory, or compliance advice for your business.
Product agreements
Using GraceVault or Orion Marketplace requires agreeing to terms specific to that product:
- GraceVault is licensed to funeral parlours under a written service agreement covering subscription terms, service levels, data ownership, and the operator arrangement POPIA requires. Provided during onboarding.
- Orion Marketplace is governed by terms accepted at account creation, separately for families and for listed parlours.
Where a product agreement conflicts with these terms, the product agreement prevails for that product.
Orion Marketplace is a venue that connects families with independent funeral parlours. Etra is not a funeral services provider, is not a party to the arrangement between a family and a parlour, and does not provide funeral services itself. Verification of a listed parlour confirms we checked the credentials we say we check — it is not a guarantee of the service you will receive.
Third-party links
This site links to external sites, including tutoconsulting.co.za. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, practices, or privacy policies. Following an external link is at your own discretion.
Availability
We aim to keep this site available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it — including individual pages — without notice.
Uptime figures quoted on this site refer to the GraceVault and Orion platforms, not to this marketing website, and are contractually committed only where a service agreement says so.
Limitation of liability
This site is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to Your consumer rights below, Etra is not liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of this site.
- Loss of profit, revenue, business, or anticipated savings.
- Any decision you make in reliance on general information published here, rather than on a written agreement with us.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Your consumer rights
If you are a consumer as defined in the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, that Act gives you rights that these terms cannot take away or reduce. Where anything here conflicts with those rights, the Act wins and the conflicting provision does not apply to you.
The same goes for the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 in respect of electronic transactions and communications.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
Before litigating, we'd ask you to raise the issue with us directly at legal@etra.co.za. Most disagreements are cheaper and faster to resolve in a conversation.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The effective date at the top reflects the current version, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. Changes are not applied retrospectively to a dispute that arose beforehand.
